Lake Oswego Review: Urban renewal measure is headed for Wilsonville ballots this May

The Lake Oswego Review recently published an overview of Measure 3-632:

”A measure that would change the way urban renewal works in Wilsonville will be included in May election ballots.

If approved, the measure would require Wilsonville voter approval before a new urban renewal district is created or an existing district is substantially changed… The city typically gauges resident opinion on the formation of a new district through an advisory vote but the vote is not binding. The city has never created an urban renewal district against the will of voters. Further, the electorate disapproving of the creation of a district to fund the proposed redevelopment of Town Center in a 2025 advisory vote stalled that project.”
